Angeline M. Piontek

Angeline “Angie” M. (Klysen) Piontek, 95, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at a local hospital surrounded by family on March 30, 2026. Angie was born on August 29, 1930 in Big Stone City, SD to Adrian and Petronella (Peters) Klysen. During the “Great Depression” & “Dust Bowl” years, farming proved to be immensely difficult for her family, when in 1940, they moved to Green Bay in search of improved economic conditions. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph Academy. Angie married Cyril “Cy” Piontek at Annunciation Catholic Church on October 14, 1950. Cy preceded her in death on August 23, 2006. For 25 years, Angie was employed by H. Ross Perot at EDS (Electronic Data Systems) eventually becoming Department Supervisor, until her retirement in 1990. Angie loved spending summer weekends at the cottage on Crooked Lake for over 4 decades. She was an extremely devoted & proud mother, successfully raising her 8 children. Spending time with her family has forever been her top priority. Angie & Cy wintered in Mesa, AZ as “Snowbirds” for 15 years spending time with their sons’ families. Angie enjoyed baking, cribbage, sheepshead, crocheting & iPad word games and puzzles to keep her brain SHARP! Angie is survived by her 8 children: Judy (Ric) Van Iten, Green Bay; Mike Piontek, White Potato Lake; Steve (Diane) Piontek, Menomonie, WI; Sharon Piontek, Green Bay; Jim (De De) Piontek, Green Bay; Dave Piontek, Chandler, AZ; Gary (Dawn) Piontek, De Pere; Gregg (Tracy) Piontek, The Woodlands, TX. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews & friends. In addition to her husband Cy, Angie was preceded in death by one grandson: Eric Van Iten, daughter-in-law: Leann Piontek, Siblings: Jane & Ralph Donarski, John & Veronica Klysen, Ann & Toby Wetli, Ted & Dorothy Klysen, and Hank & Shirley Klysen. Gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. with Father Adam Bradley officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established in her name. Angie’s Family extends Special Appreciation to Dr. Leah Nitke, Dr. Umang Guatam and Dr. Greg Thom and staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center for providing Mom with Exceptional Care for 13 years. A warm note of appreciation offered to the staff and many special friends at Dimensions Living where she resided for the past 8 years. Special Appreciation is also extended to St. Bernards Parish members, Deacon Bernie Terrien, Don & Cindy VanDenHeuvel and Father Adam Bradley for their years of dedication to Mom.
